Fix The Why.
Not Just The Pain.

Root-cause rehab. One-on-one. Every session.

Most PT clinics hand you a sheet of exercises and rotate techs through your sessions. That’s not what happens here. At PPW, your DPT assesses you, treats you, and progresses you — personally — every single visit. The goal isn’t “cleared to return.” It’s stronger than before.

Who This Is For

Who This Is For.

If you have a body and something’s not working right, we can help. Whether you’re post-op, mid-season, or just tired of being in pain — this is where you start.

01

Post-Surgical

ACL, rotator cuff, hip, spine, shoulder. Return-to-sport and return-to-life rehab that doesn’t stop at “cleared.”

02

Sports Injuries

Acute or overuse injuries in competitive athletes, youth through adult — from hamstring strains to stress fractures to overhead issues.

03

Chronic Pain

Back, neck, shoulder, hip pain that’s been around long enough that you’ve tried everything and are ready to try something that actually works.

04

Active Adults

Weekend warriors, lifters, runners, and everyday athletes who refuse to let an injury define what they can and can’t do.

What We Do Differently

The Injury
Is A Symptom.

Every injury has a reason. A tissue didn’t fail in a vacuum — something loaded it wrong, or loaded it too much, or couldn’t tolerate what you were asking of it. Standard PT treats the pain. We treat the reason. That means movement assessment, mechanics work, strength progression, and load management — until the thing that caused the injury is actually gone. That’s why our patients don’t come back with the same problem in six months.

“I went into physical therapy because I wanted to help people get back to the things they love — not just patch them up and send them off. That’s still the standard here.”

— Dr. Alberto Florez, PT, DPT · PPW Co-Founder

01

Full Movement Assessment

We don’t just look at where it hurts. We assess the whole kinetic chain — mobility, motor control, strength, and loading capacity — to find what’s actually driving the problem.

02

One-on-One Every Session

No techs. No rotating providers. The DPT who assessed you is the one treating you, every time. Continuity is what makes the difference.

03

Performance Metrics

We measure what we’re trying to change — strength, range, power, tolerance. Your progress is based on objective data, not just how you feel that day.

04

Return Past Baseline

The standard isn’t “you can lift 50% of what you used to without pain.” It’s “you’re stronger, more durable, and better-moving than before the injury.”

What to Expect

How It Works.

Every patient moves through the same core framework — calibrated to your body, your injury, and your goals.

01

Consultation

A 30-minute evaluation. Your DPT assesses, listens, and shows you exactly what’s going on and what we’d do about it. No pressure to continue.

02

Custom Plan

A clear plan: frequency, expected timeline, milestones, and what success looks like. You know what you’re signing up for.

03

Treat & Progress

Hands-on treatment, corrective work, and progressive loading — all one-on-one with your DPT. Each session builds on the last.

04

Discharge Strong

You leave with the tools to stay that way. We’re not in the business of keeping patients forever — we’re in the business of getting them independent.

Dr. Alberto Florez

PT, DPT · Co-Founder · Physical Therapy

“Normal lab values don’t mean optimal performance. ‘Cleared to return’ doesn’t mean ready to perform. We treat the gap.”

Alberto trained with the intention of becoming an orthopedic surgeon before pivoting to physical therapy — driven by a belief that the best medicine returns people to the life they love, not just the operating table. He leads the PPW physical therapy team alongside Dr. Ariel Cambern (pelvic floor) and Dr. Christian Mathews (baseball-specific).

Common Questions

Frequently Asked
Questions

Do I need a doctor’s referral to come see you?

In Texas, you can see a physical therapist directly under direct access. A referral isn’t required for evaluation or most treatment. If we identify something that needs a physician’s involvement, we’ll coordinate that — but you don’t need one to start.

Do you accept insurance?

We’re a cash-based practice, which means more time per session, no arbitrary visit caps, and no fighting insurance for care you need. We can provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement. HSA/FSA are accepted and financing is available through Practice Better.

How long will I need PT?

It depends entirely on the issue. Some acute problems resolve in a handful of sessions. Post-surgical rehab might run 2–4 months. Chronic issues vary. During your consultation, we’ll give you a realistic range so you can plan.

What’s actually different about cash-based PT?

Time, continuity, and goals. Insurance PT is built around what they’ll reimburse — short visits, high volume, split attention. Cash-based means you get a full hour with your DPT, one-on-one, every visit. And we don’t stop treating when insurance says your visit cap is up.

Do you do dry needling or manual therapy?

Yes — both. Dry needling, manual therapy, joint mobilization, and soft tissue work are all part of our toolkit. But they’re tools, not the whole treatment. The lasting change comes from the exercise progression and movement retraining that comes with them.

I’ve tried PT before and it didn’t help. Why would this be different?

Most insurance-based PT is rushed, cookie-cutter, and high-volume by necessity. Patients tell us constantly that their previous PT was “just exercises on a sheet.” Our model is structurally different — more time, more expertise per session, and protocols built around your specific mechanics. That’s usually what was missing.
